Double Knits

There are several types of double knit. These are more structured, stable knits that have more body than normal knits.

Liverpool - Liverpool is a poly spandex blend that is textured on the *right side of the fabric and smooth on the *wrong side. It’s typically 2-way stretch with great recovery. Because of it's thickness and body it has marvelous drape.
Idea's on what you can make: Pencil skirts, peplum tops, full circle skirts, blazers, dresses

Scuba - Scuba is another poly spandex blend that is smooth on both sides. No, this is not what they make scuba suits from.  This also typically only has 2-way stretch with fantastic recovery.  The drape on this is going to be similar to that of liverpool and ponte.
Idea's on what you can make: Pencil skirts, peplum tops, full circle skirts, blazers, dresses.

Ponte - Ponte is made up of poly spandex but is sometimes spun with rayon and cotton as well which will give it a little different feel to it. It has stiff stretch with excellent recovery.  Because of it's qualities it has a nice drape like liverpool and scuba.
Idea's on what you can make: Pencil skirts, peplum tops, full circle skirts, blazers, pants, cuffs.

*Fabric has something called the "right" side.  Most times this right side is what you see when wearing a garment, the "wrong" side being on the inside that touches your skin.

Suede scuba

I just LOVE this fabric. While I have not cut into it, I plan to very soon. The weight is perfect, color awesome and stretch is exactly what I wanted. I hope SSE is able to get more colors- like red!

Fantastic fabric!

Haven't used the fabric yet. I'm keeping it for a fall project. This will be perfect for a jacket even pants. It's a 2 way stretch about 50% horizontal. It has great recovery.... It is beautiful with a nice shine and so soft. Looks really classy!
