Cotton Blends

One for the most common cotton blends is cotton spandex.  Sometimes referred to as cotton lycra.  Lycra is a brand name for spandex, but they are indeed the same thing.  Cotton is typically easy to dye.  It has a great stretch and recovery.  It has a decent drape, but isn't as flowly as other lighter weight knits.
Anything with cotton in it is going to need to be preached because of some slight shrinkage.  Cotton blends come in different weights and stretches, it will depend on what it is blended with.  Because of the cotton, these blends will also make the fabric breathable.

Ideas on what you can make: Leggings, tops, dresses, cuffs, underwear. It’s especially good for children’s clothing as it’s pretty durable.

tank top

Made a tank top, using the stripes for binding. Had to do a lot of basting to get the stripes perfect, but it was worth it . The fabric is comfy and easy with which to work. May use the scraps for more interesting stripe details on other garments....does that mean i will have a "collection?" (LOL)
