The Santa Fe Hoodie and Top Pattern is one of our very favorites here at SSE. Not only is it a great fitting top for both adults and kids, but the options this pattern provides makes the possibilities nearly endless! Add a quarter, half, or full zip, or leave it off altogether. Add a hood or regular neckband, or colorblock to your heart's content (or don't). This pattern really has it all!
This week, we challenged some of our talented admins to sew up a Santa Fe Hoodie and Top to highlight the gorgeous possibilities this pattern has to offer. Take a look at what they came up with, and let us know your favorites!
Barbie
My Santa Fe is made using three different fabrics. The two solids are brushed French Terry and the camo is rayon spandex. I love that this pattern has so many possibilities and makes such a great top!

I made this Santa Fe using a mix of solid french terry, and I love how it turned out! The colorblocking makes for an excellent scrap buster, and it elevated what would have been a simple hoodie into something really special.
This Santa Fe I made using a mix of different fabrics, including some super soft Leopard print Oakley sweater knit and brushed waffle knit. The ability to mix different fabric bases to make an unique garment is one of the reasons I really love this pattern!

I'm a bit timid when it comes to mixing prints, but the Santa Fe pattern really lets me try out new combinations and have a lot of fun doing it too! I love the option for a quarter zip as well. I made this one with a combination of buffalo plaid french terry, black cotton spandex and ivory floral french terry. This top is one I know will carry me from winter well into spring.

I love how easy it was to make it half zip. The construction came together easily and quickly! Overall it was a very polished finish and a satisfying sew.

Recently I have been looking for ways to add some bling to my clothes. Ideas on how to make a simple top perfect for going out or just lounging around. I decided to add some sequins. A simple top that I can wear out to dinner or go out with friends. This brushed rayon spandex french Terry was perfect to match with some left over sequins from a different project. Now I want to go sew all the brushed fabrics.

I have been wanting to make an olive super plush hoodie for awhile. I love the Colorblocking options on the Santa Fe, and chose to pop some Camo fun onto the sleeves and hood panel but keep the crop length bodice plain. I feel like the sporty yet cozy feel of this Santa Fe will be great year round!

My favorite is Heidi’s, although they are all great. It was difficult to choose because they are each different, and display the creators’ individual style. Good job!!!
