Kids grow so fast, like a weed most days. I have had a dress fit my daughter in August and by the time May hits, she is wearing it almost as a shirt because she's grown so much. Which is one of the greatest reasons for sewing for kids. What makes sewing for them even better, free patterns! It gives you so much more bang for your buck. Here are some of our favorite free patterns for all the girls in your life.
Hooded Raglan from Brindlle & Twig
This little raglan is absolutely adorable. It's a quick sew which makes it great for your little one's everyday wardrobe, or even the perfect quick gift that needs to be sewn up in time for that party you procrastinated about. It comes in sizes 0M-6T, making it great for a variety of ages small to school age.
Eden Leggings from Bella Sunshine
There are TONS of free leggings patterns out there. And who wouldn't love that, leggings are the best, especially for little ones. My kids are a fan of the Edens more than other leggings because of the rise on them. They don't like how high some leggings patterns can go, but these feel just right for them. Not too high to feel like they are under their armpits, but also not too low so when they bend over their underwear peak out. Twirly Skirt for kids - Halla Patterns
A skirt is so versatile. Dress it up, dress it down. Make it playground ready, or special event go to, a basic skirt pattern comes in so handy. And this one is one of my kids favorites, and the name explains why. It's definitely got some TWIRL to it. Making all my kids feel magical in their own right. With a yoga band it makes this skirt not only easy, but quick! And not to forget, it has the options for pockets. Who doesn't love pockets in a skirt? Anyone have a picky kid? *See's everyone raise their hand* Well my girls are picky about shirts. And dolmans are one of those things that they either love, or HATE. The Cloud 9 is by far their favorite. It's fitted enough to give it shape, but it's not too tight. Great for warm weather or cold weather, this is a pattern for all year.
